The Art of Voiceover

These group classes are very dynamic with theatrical practices, readings aloud, and a series of recordings in different voiceover styles.

It is a seventeen-week course taught at San Francisco State University for Broadcasting and Communication Arts students. It can also be taught as a short workshop (minimum 6 classes) as it has been at Teatro Escola Célia Helena in São Paulo / BR. Created for students who want to broaden their job opportunities through their voices. These classes cover the recording process from the briefing, direction, variants of interpretation, and basic technologies of recording and editing, to the final record, always through practice exercises. In this course, we also talk about the voiceover industry with SAG-AFTRA guest speakers who help the participants to have a better understanding of what is like to work behind a microphone every day.

“Cintya is more than a teacher, she is a facilitator. The classes with her are extremely technical and at the same time affectionate. In a light and calm way, it helped me to find my own voice. And I feel that the same happened with the other students at the workshop, each of them discovered their own unique way of using their voices. The profiles were designed based on the difficulties and talents of each one. It was a very intense workshop that inspired me to continue studying, and it was also a path of self-knowledge through my voice.”Maria FanchinActress and Movie Director
